QTE has applied over 2,000,000 tons of byproducts back onto farm fields.

This provides nutrients to the soil for next year’s crop and adds value to a byproduct that previously offered none to our partners, local growers and landowners.

We are grateful to our partners for their trust as we access their land to GIS map, test the soil, and precisely calculate to determine the amount of material that can be land applied due to the materials fertilizer content. We also manage the process to make sure fields are not over-applied to maximize crop yield for the following crop season. We also realize that too much of certain byproducts can lead to issues in a growers field. That’s why it’s important that our team understands the right balance of materials, their textures, application timing and rates so crop stands and yields can still be maximized for our growers we work with.

We use both liquid and dry spreading equipment, pulled by tractors designed specifically for hauling loads safely down the road to their destination for application.

We care about our growers and landowners because without them, our industry partners will not have a close place to efficiently spread their byproducts certified for field application.

QTE takes a thoughtful, measured approach to making sure our partners are in compliance with state laws and pollution control agencies.

We even go the extra mile – partnering with national environmental 3rd party engineers to double and triple check our work, so that you can be at peace knowing that we are putting our best foot forward making sure your company is “in-check”.

We have staff with Type IV operator licenses that receive annual training on industrial byproducts and we work closely with companies to help them build their operating IBP permits. Then we operate under them on their behalf to guarantee compliance.

We also determine when a permit modification should be made to help their business. And, we make recommendations and work with the state officials who govern these permit laws and regulations.

At the end of the year, we create reports on our partners’ behalf which are then submitted to the state.

We take samples and submit them to the right labs to receive data that helps us make informed decisions. Soil, Beneficial Use Products like feed and ingredients…these samples are analyzed to determine product value and/or volumes that can be land applied on fields or sold as feed products throughout the upper midwest.

We pay attention to the details…because they matter.

Some partners have products that have a beneficial use beyond nutrient value for field application. We assign these products into a class called Beneficial Use.

These products are typically sourced and sold into the feed or food markets and sometimes unique cases like ethanol plants – wherever the greatest value can be found.

They are tested for feed rations, evaluated by animal nutritionists, and QTE goes to work to find homes for them through our extensive network of growers.

This creates harmony for our partners as they find homes for their products and create a return for them, benefiting the earth and helping out a farmer.

Let’s face it head on, there are times when conditions do not favor field application. Some people call it inclement weather. We help our partners be prepared.

We find homes for byproducts to be land applied. This includes drop-off points for piles of material or lagoons/manure pits that can be certified to hold or take product that is then later land applied. Some people call certification of manure pits or lagoons for storage in times of need flatout gross.
